Drew has shared the microphone with everyone from actors Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keanu Reeves; to singing stars Gwen Stefani, Tony Bennett and Willie Nelson; to media personalities Katie Couric, Sharon Osbourne and Courtney Love; to sports personalities like cycling champ Lance Armstrong and baseball great Mike Piazza. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Amherst College and his M.D. from the USC School of Medicine, Dr. Drew was awarded the position of Chief Resident at a USC facility. Both a board-certified internist and addictionologist, Dr. Drew is also the Medical Director of the Department of Chemical Dependency Services at Pasadena's Las Encinas Hospital and the Chief of Service in the Department of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Drew is the past President of the Pasadena Medical Society and the former editor of the Los Angeles County Medical Association magazine. Fifteen years ago, during his fourth year at Medical School, Dr. Drew began his second career in late-night radio when he volunteered to co-host a Los Angeles radio show. Over the years, the show evolved into Loveline, which is now heard in over 70 markets. Dr. Drew continues to maintain his medical practice while co-hosting Loveline on the radio and television. Two years ago Dr. Drew and his then Loveline partner Adam Carolla published their advice on a myriad of subjects in their first book entitled The Dr. Drew and Adam Book: A Survival Guide to Life and Love. Raised in Pasadena, California, Dr. Drew currently resides in Southern California with his wife, Susan, and their triplets. When not busy with his family, medical practice and Loveline, Dr. Drew spends time speaking to high school and college students and enjoying opera, a passion for which he has trained for several years.
