Kugler is currently
the lead play-by-play voice on Westwood
One’s coverage of NCAA Football® and
NCAA Basketball® and this marks his fifth
consecutive year behind the microphone for the
CWS.
Kugler, a four-time winner of the Nebraska
Sportscaster of the Year (2003-06), joined the
NCAA Radio Network in 2004 as a field reporter
for the CWS before being moved upstairs
to the broadcast booth. For the past two seasons
he teamed with Terry Bowden on Westwood
One’s College Football Game of the Week, and
partnered with Pete Gillen on the NCAA Basketball
Game of the Week as well. Kugler also
called the Men’s Final Four this past March
with John Thompson and Bill Raftery. Kugler, a
native of Omaha, can be heard daily as the cohost
of “Unsportsmanlike Conduct,” which airs
weekday afternoons locally on 1620, The Zone.
He also does television play-by-play for NET
Sports, and is the former radio voice of the University
of Nebraska-Omaha.
In association with Westwood One, NRG Radio
will once again call all of the preliminary
games from Rosenblatt Stadium. Kugler handles
play-by-play and former University of Nebraska
catcher (and linebacker) Adrian Fiala
adds analysis.
