A first class engineering license was Lisa's ticket to get on the air at WFAW in Fort Atkinson, WI in 1981.  She was given the title of Assistant Chief Engineer, but her passion was blasting Hank Williams Jr. from 3pm to sign-off everyday.  WZOK in her hometown of Rockford, IL was her next stop.  At first, the owner of the station said he'd never have a woman on during the day but when she scored a 100.0 share in the Arbitron book in middays, he didn't regret his decision.

Q106 in San Diego called, and after helping launch that station, Lisa was drawn back to country at San Diego’s KSON for the morning show.  She eventually became host of the show, making her the first female to host a morning show on the legendary country station, and the first female morning show host in the history of San Diego radio.  Looking back, the highlights were introducing a new guy named Garth on stage at a local bar and doing a WalMart appearance with a shy newcomer by the name of Alan Jackson.  Oh, and the several #1 books in Arbitron's 25-54 demo also make the list.

When WBOB launched as the "New Country" station in Minneapolis, Lisa was right there convincing everyone to "Turn their knob to Bob!"  Before the ink had dried on the contract, she realized they had turned her into Markie Marquette!  Garth was headlining now and he was completely puzzled when someone introduced her as Markie.  He said "Aren't you Lisa Dent?"

It was time for the "Lisa Dent Show" and KYCW in Seattle was the place.  Lisa was there to launch a Young Country station like no other.  Again, she was the first female to host a country morning show in that market.  She developed "Lisa Dent's Charity of the Month" and introduced a new audience of people to country music, including nine year old Blaine Larson who listened to her show every morning before school.

When it was time to launch a Young Country station in Houston, Lisa was the first to get the call and the first voice listeners heard on KIKK when "The Lisa Dent Morning Show" hit the airwaves on this legendary country station.  Once again, she makes history as the first female to host a morning show in H-town.  The "Charity of the Month" continues to raise money for women, kids, animals and cancer causes.  In 1998, she tells her audience that she has cancer.  She wins the fight and, three years later through the miracle of adoption, she becomes a Mom.

There is only one place for Lisa to raise a family and that's back home in Illinois.  She packed up the whole family including the horse, three donkeys, four cats, two dogs, one bird and George the pig and headed for US99 America's Country Station, WUSN in Chicago.  She moved the midday show from 16th place to 2nd, and has one of the biggest country audiences in the nation.  Country artists line-up for her "Studio 99-five Live" events and she has become known as the "Oprah" of country radio.

Hosting "CMT Radio Insider" for Westwood One and their Grammy radio specials, Lisa was introduced to country audiences nationwide.  Lisa's "Infinity Sneak Peeks," the "Naked Truth Series,” live broadcasts from Times Square with Shania and a live broadcast from the set of Reba's hit TV show have been heard worldwide.  TV audiences have seen her in country music videos and CMT "In the Moment" specials.

Lisa is the 2005 CMA Major Market Personality of the year and is a lifetime member of the CMA. She has been nominated twice for the same category at the ACM's.  The Radio MegaBlast Awards honored her as the 2004 Country Radio Personality of the Year.

Her commitment to charity was recognized in 2000 when she was named "Citizen of the Year".  She has raised millions of dollars for non profit organizations and has been appointed to the Board of Directors for four different charities.  Most recently, the American Cancer Society Regional Leadership Board.  She is an advocate for ACS and travels to Washington DC to regularly meet with the Speaker of the House and members of Congress to lobby for budget increases for the National Institute of Cancer.

Lisa Dent proudly represents the country music industry wherever she goes.
